My master’s thesis was developed in a period time of two semesters, and the research topic arised from the role of Design as a cultural and information mediator and the use of food as a Design tool, to contribute to demystify the use of parts of food that are normally wasted because they are culturally rejected in Portugal.
Through an exploratory graphic exercise, this introductory project called “All you can eat” was developed during the first semester.
It is a campaign to enhance the fruit peels that are normally rejected in Portuguese gastronomic culture.
This campaign includes a sensory experience with orange peels, a material that really inspired me to work with for my final project OrangeBee, not only because of their nutritional value, but also because of their organoletic characteristics that, for me, are really interesting and have a lot of potential for health and sustainable benefits.
